Hazeldean Edmonton Homes For Sale | Real Estate Listings 

One of the older neighbourhoods of Edmonton, the community today known as Hazeldean started as a land holding of three individuals identified as I. Irvina, W. Ogilvie, and C. Anderson. In 1907, the areas were annexed by Strathcona, and by 1910 development had begun and the Neighbourhood took on the name of Hazeldean. In 1912, the amalgamation of Strathcona with Edmonton made the neighbourhood officially a part of Edmonton, and though the area was subdivided as early as 1910, the bulk of residential development in Hazeldean was done in the 1950s. As a result, the majority of the homes for sale in Hazeldean are mid-century houses.

Located in south Edmonton, near the University of Alberta, bounded by 72nd Avenue in the north and 63rd Avenue in the south, Hazeldean is laid out in a grid with wide blocks as opposed to tall. In the east, Hazendean is bounded by Argyl Park. The former railroad, running east to west through the neighbourhood, today exists as a park and trail, with residential areas north and south.
